Keith DePalma, a proud single father of four—Braydon (17), Colin (14), Liam (11), and Brooklyn (9)—has returned to his roots in Myrtle Beach, SC, with a mission to continue the prestigious DePalma legacy that has long been a part of the Grand Strand’s culinary landscape. Keith’s journey has brought him back to the community he loves, where he aims to create unforgettable experiences for both locals and visitors through his business, Roll Out.
Keith’s father, Sal DePalma, was a renowned Executive Chef in Myrtle Beach, known for his exceptional contributions to the local culinary scene. Sal opened numerous restaurants, bars, pizzerias, and delis, while also dedicating his life to mentoring future chefs as an instructor at Horry Georgetown Technical College. Sal’s influence extended further as he served multiple terms as President of the Myrtle Beach Chapter of the American Culinary Federation (ACF), leaving a lasting impact on the local culinary community. Although Sal DePalma passed away over a decade ago, his legacy continues to inspire Keith as he carries forward the family tradition of excellence and community involvement.
Keith’s move back to Myrtle Beach was not only about building his business but also about reuniting the DePalma family. His eldest brother recently relocated from Cancun, Mexico, while his sister has been living in the area for nearly two decades. His other brother, Sal, also just moved from Pennsylvania. Keith’s mother, Jackie Tucker, remains in Tampa, FL, but visits often and is expected to be a regular presence at the Surfside Beach location of Roll Out.
Returning to Myrtle Beach was a dream shared by Keith’s children. Instead of asking for extravagant things, their only request was to live close enough to attend Socastee High School, where Keith himself graduated and has many fond memories. Braydon and Colin DePalma have already embraced the family heritage by working alongside their father at various Roll Out events throughout the summer. They are passionate about delivering outstanding ice cream and service, ensuring that everyone who visits, whether a local or a tourist, leaves with new cherished recollections of their time in Myrtle Beach.
Keith’s vision for Roll Out goes beyond just serving ice cream. He is committed to making a positive impact on the community through the “Hands Up to Roll Out” foundation, dedicated to supporting children in need across the Grand Strand area. Keith’s goal is to make Roll Out a staple of Myrtle Beach culture, a place where people come not only for delicious ice cream but also to be part of a legacy that celebrates family, community, and the joy of shared experiences.
With a deep love for the area and a dedication to continuing his father’s legacy, Keith DePalma is set to leave his own mark on Myrtle Beach, creating a place where exceptional ice cream and heartfelt community engagement go hand in hand.
